If an associate experiences an eligible family status change event, his/her insurance coverage may be changed during a 31 day window that begins on the date of the qualifying event. This is the only way an associate can make changes to insurance coverage outside of the open enrollment period. 


Here are the items allowed under a Family Status Change/Life Event:

 

Spouse

I got married

I got divorced/separated

My spouse lost or gained health care coverage under another plan

My spouse has passed away

Child

I had/adopted a child

I gained custody of a child

The status with my child has changed

My child lost or gained health care coverage under another plan

My dependent care costs have changed (DCFSA)

My child has passed away

Me

I am on, or have returned from unpaid leave (LWOP-FMLA-Military)

I deployed or returned from deployment

I lost health care coverage under another plan
