2020 W-2 INFORMATION-UPDATE 2

 

 

The 2020 electronic W-2 forms will be available for printing and viewing in Employee Self Service (ESS) on the afternoon of 22 Jan 2021. Date has changed from 21 Jan 2021 due to a revision to the 2020 electronic W-2.

 

For associates who elected to have W-2 forms mailed, the hard copies will be post-marked 31 Jan 2021 and delivered via standard mail to the home address you have listed in Employee Self Service (ESS)Mailed W-2’s will not be impacted by the revision to 2020 electronic W-2.

 

Any reissuance of W-2 forms will occur no earlier than 16 Feb 2021.

2020 W-2 INFORMATION 

AAFES is required by the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) to provide each employee with a W-2 Form that states the employee's compensation and tax withholding amounts for the calendar year on or before 31 January 31of the following year. The IRS permits the use of electronic W-2 statements to meet this requirement.  

 

The benefits of receiving an electronic W-2 statement are:

  • Earlier access
  • Once received electronically, significantly less possibility that the W-2 may be lost or stolen
  • Access is possible electronically if the employee is away from his/her usual home or work location
  • Benefits of ‘Going Green’

 

For Tax Year 2020, the Exchange will reset the online W-2 forms to default to print/view on-line in Employee Self Service (ESS). For associates requiring a paper W-2, the associate must log on to Employee Self Service and actively consent to receive a paper version of their W-2.

 

For associates who elected to have their W-2 mailed, the hard copies will be post marked 31 Jan 2021 and mailed via regular mail to “only” the home address you have listed in Employee Self Service.

 

Any reissuance of W-2 forms will occur no earlier than 16 Feb 2021.
