Families First Coronavirus Response Act (FFCRA) ends 31 Mar 2021

As you are aware the Families First Coronavirus Response Act (FFCRA) was implemented on 1 April 2020. FFCRA provides associates with paid sick leave for reasons related to the coronavirus (COVID-19). The sick leave authorized under FFCRA was paid by the Exchange as administrative leave (COVID-Admin). The FFCRA leave provision was effective from 1 April 2020 through 31 December 2020. In December 2020, the Coronavirus Relief Act was signed into law with a provision that extended FFCRA use until 31 March 2021. As such, leave granted under FFCRA will end effective Wednesday, 31 March 2021. GMs/DCMs should still continue to apply liberal leave and exercise discretion when considering leave for associates impacted by COVID-19. All reports that were used to track FFCRA use should be maintained in the event the information is needed for future reporting.

The expiration of FFCRA does not impact the COVID-19 vaccination administrative leave (up to 4 hours of administrative leave per vaccination appointment if vaccinated during scheduled work time).
