The American Rescue Plan Act of 2021 was signed into law by President Biden on 11 Mar 2021. In this Act, Section 4001, Emergency Federal Employee Leave Fund, authorizes up to 15 weeks of paid leave to employees that are unable to work due to COVID-19 related reasons.

 

The Defense Civilian Personnel Advisory Service (DCPAS) has advised that Section 4001, Emergency Federal Employee Leave Fund Is not applicable to NAF entities. Therefore, the paid leave authorized through the Emergency Federal Employee Leave Fund DOES NOT apply to Exchange associates.

 

As a reminder the following still applies:

  • Liberal leave 
  • Up to four (4) hours of administrative leave for those receiving the COVID-19 vaccination during scheduled work hours 
  • Up to two (2) days for those that experience an adverse reaction to the COVID-19 vaccination
